1             Introduction

1.1         This privacy policy explains what we do with your personal data.  Please read it carefully because, by using our service, you are consenting to the processing of your personal data described in this policy.

2             How we collect personal data

2.1         We collect your personal data when you give it to us, for instance by signing up for an account with us, by requesting agent comparisons, uploading information about your property that makes it identifiable or by contacting us.

2.2         As part of the due diligence process which the law requires of us, we may also collect your personal data from public sources such as the electoral roll.

2.3         We use cookies on our site to enable you to log in to it.  A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that we put on your computer if you agree. These cookies allow us to distinguish you from other users of our website, which helps us to provide you with a good experience when you browse our website and also allows us to improve our site. By consenting to our use of cookies and continuing to browse our site you are agreeing to our use of cookies.

2.4.1            CATEGORY 1: STRICTLY NECESSARY COOKIES. These cookies are essential in order to enable you to move around the website and use its features, such as accessing secure areas.

2.4.2            CATEGORY 2: PERFORMANCE COOKIES.  These cookies collect information about how visitors use a website, for instance which pages visitors go to most often, and if they get error messages from web pages. These cookies do not collect information that could identify you. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. It is only used to improve how a website works.

3             The types of personal data we collect

3.1         We collect the following kinds of personal data:

3.1.1            details about your property including full post code, number of bedrooms, and estimated value (sellers only);

3.1.2            details about your company, position, contact details and data on your property sales activity (agents only); 

3.1.3            information about residential property

3.2         Some of that personal data may be classified as sensitive personal data under the Data Protection Act.  We will treat sensitive personal data in accordance with our obligations under the Data Protection Act.

4             Why we collect personal data and what we do with it

4.1         When you provide your personal data to us, the purpose for which you are providing that personal data will always be clear.

4.2         In general, we will process your personal data to:

4.2.1            create and administer your account with us;

4.2.2            verify your identity;

4.2.3            process payments from you;

4.2.4            provide our services (for example, to match agents with potential vendors); and

4.2.5            communicate with you about our services.

4.3         We will also process your personal data:

4.3.1            internally, to inform decisions about our business operations and strategy; and

4.3.2            to contact you from time to time to market our own services to you.

4.4         We will not use your personal data to market the products or services of unrelated third parties.

5             Who we share your personal data with

5.1         We outsource some of our business operations to external providers, and we share your personal data with them to the extent necessary for them to provide their services to us.  We obtain from them appropriate assurances about their treatment of your personal data.

5.2         We shall share a seller’s property information at the point a seller views performance data of agents in their local area. This will be shared with agents within the local area for the purpose of marketing activities. This will include the post code, number of bedrooms, type of property and the estimated value of a property.

5.3         We shall not share a seller’s contact details. including your name, property address, telephone number and email.

5.4         We may also need to share your personal data with our professional advisers or regulators, or if the law otherwise requires it.

5.5         We will share information about the property for sale with social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter in order to drive people to the site to place an offer on the property. 

5.6         We will share information about the seller with estate agents and we share your personal data with them to the extent necessary for them to provide their services to us.

5.7         We shall share all agents quotes, performance data, advertising listings and property examples with all relevant sellers.

6             Your rights

6.1         We will stop sending you marketing communications if you ask us to.  Except for information which you have specifically requested from us, our marketing communications will also provide you with a means to opt out of such communications in future.  In any event, if you wish to stop receiving some or all marketing communications from us, you can let us know by email to  

6.2         If you wish to exercise your right under s7 of the Data Protection Act to access your personal data held by us, you can email at or write to our registered office at the address above.  Please note that we may make a charge of up to £10 to cover our costs in responding to such requests.

6.3         If you believe any of the personal data we hold about you is inaccurate, please tell us so we can correct it as necessary.
